Playing golf in Switzerland

You will need a valid handicap card (Platzreife) from any golf club. You will not get on any course in Switzerland without a handicap card. Perhaps at a private club if you know someone, but I even doubt that. 18 holes cost at the Migros courses Sfr 65 and 75, considerably more at private clubs. Once you are in the computer at the Migros Club courses Otelfingen and Holzhäusern (Zürich area), you can basically sign up to play anytime. In fact, you can log in and get your tee-time at these courses online. Be sure to make reservations in advance. Walk-ups can be difficult to come by. In Austria and Germany, you can complain and haggle a bit and get on, but in Switzerland forget it.
